Infusionsoft - How To Retrieve A Clients Password

If a user forgets his/her password and requests you provide it, follow these steps to identify the correct password

  1. Log in to your admin Infusionsoft account.

  2. Enter user's email id in "Find a contact..." search box to find the contact in Infusionsoft. Below is the image for your reference:

 3. Once you enter the user's email id, you will see a drop-down menu showing all                 the contact records similar to that email id. From that drop down, click on the contact you are looking for:

4. Clicking on the user will take you to the following screen:

5. On the above-shown screen, click on the user's name (ex. Rohit345) to open the contact details, as shown in the image below:

6. If you are not sure which field is being used in your Infusionsoft Account as a default field to save the user's login password, you can check in any contact record and identify the default field. You may also reach out to the CEA team and ask the default field set in your account.
To identify the default field you have to check following two fields:
A. Infusionsoft's Default Password Field,
B. A Custom Password Field
User's password should be available in one of the above-mentioned fields. Following are the details to check both the fields:

7.  For checking the password in "Infusionsoft's Default Password Field":
Go to "Additional Info" tab of the user you searched and opened in the previous step. In "Additional Info" tab, you will see "Password Field" and this is the Infusionsoft's Default Password Field. If the password is available there then this is the field set for saving user's password and you can copy the content of this field and share with the user. Below is the image for your reference:

8. For checking the password in "A Custom Password Field":
Custom fields are created by us to save the password generated for the users to log in to the membership site. When we are not using "Infusionsoft's Default Password Field", "A Custom Password Field" is the best option. Please follow following steps to check password saved in "A Custom Password Field".
Click on the "Custom Fields" tab of the user/contact opened by you and look for a password field named as 1_"Your Company Name Initials" Membership Password. For example, here we have used 1_FC Membership Password, where F and C are the initial letters of client's company name.

Note: This password needs to be tested and then sent to the user, along with the email and the login page of the website.
